I think in the beginning Donnie helped Mark when he was in New kids on The Block band. After that Mark has went on to make Wahlberg a household name, which helps Donnie.

Donnie was already a member of New Kids on the Block and brought Mark into the band to start with. Mark's career took off & he became very famous, but Donnie got him started. Credit to Donnie!

Donnie was the first member of NKOTB, he recruited Mark, when Mark quit, Donnie used his $$ to help his brother make it with his funky bunch. Donnie was the man.
