If it's just for you and 1 more person, then u can't go wrong with the "SMART" car, a great little run around plus u can change the outer bodywork!

If its for more than two, then try the Toyota Aygo, still only small but relaiable and can seat 4 comfortably, or try the Yaris, it's brill!

Something slightly bigger? Try the New Mazda 2 which is coming out in September, it's got a really good boot size, can sit 5 adults easy.

Nissan Micra or Vauxhall Corsa. Both are a great drive and economical. My mate has a fiat panda which is good as long as you don't want to break any speed records.

Volkswagon Fox
Kinda like the love child of a Polo and a Golf...
CHeap to buy, cheap to run, cheap to insure and has the VW stamp of reliability...
for reliability you cant go far wrong with a jap or a german car.

All depends on how much you want to spend. If you want to go with reliability I would get a Civic or Corolla.
