I think if they are healthy, they should play. If they have any injuries whatsoever, nagging, small, or large, they should rest for their real job of playing in the NBA. I personally would think it would be a great honor for any of these players to play for our country and bring back the dominance that we once had.

Nobody should rest when they get the chance to represent their country in international competition. If America doesn't bother to compete seriously at the Olympics, what kind of message would that send to the other athletes that do show up for the games? I understand that there is a chance for injury at those games and it may hurt their teams when they come back less rested for the next season, and they have an obligation to perform their best for the contracts they are paid for. But these "superstars" just don't value international competition the way they do the NBA competition.
The players I would suggest should rest at home during the Olympics are the ones who wouldn't play as a team: Kobe, Iverson...ball hogs.
