I don't get it! Everybody pretty much knows how bad tanning beds are for you. I feel like I'm one of the few women I know who doesn't do that. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to look pasty either, but I also don't want to look like a shriveled up old prune or get skin cancer when I'm 50. My solution? Body lotion with a hint of sunless tanner. These are SO much better now than they used to be. Looks natural, not like an oompa loompa!

It's not that I "care about everyone else," it's just that I feel like I'M the weird one for not doing it, y'know?

Because they don't think that skin cancer will happen to them. Vanity may have something to do with it,for some. I fake tan. I'm not ready to die just yet.

I love being outside (I'd never go to a tanning bed) and even with sunscreen, I still manage to get tan. I love getting a natural "real" tan because sunless tanners have always left me a bit too orange. I do think that people need to practice better protection in the sun... and I do think there should be some sort of law about tanning beds.

I mean... you have to be a certain age to smoke cigarettes, which can cause cancer, so why shouldn't you have to be of age to use a tanning bed which can also cause cancer.

Ughhh...I gave that up awhile ago. I only tanned in the winter anyway just to feel better, kind of lift my spirits. I did it for maybe a half hour a week total. I didn't do it to actually get tan. I hate seeing these girls that look orange in February. It's so gross looking. I agree with you about the sunless tanner. If you want to be tan, do it the old fashioned way, lay out in the actual sun! There's nothing wrong with trying to get a healthy, natural looking glow, but that orange leather look with straw hair is so out. UGH.

Its all about vanity. Anyone that has ever seen a real tan, knows what a fake tan is and a real tan is. Your right, they look like oompa loompas. I would rather be with someone pasty then some fake vane oompa loompa.

Yep I agree, my sister is a big tanner and she looks like she is her her 40s and I look like I am in my 20s still (we are in our 30s and she is a year younger) I tan naturally lightly living in FL but never over do it. I have seen many people who use tanning beds regularly and their skins is horribly blotchy looking with patches of dry skin, yuck. I agree if you must have a tan complexion do it the most healthy way you can.

because we like it!!! each person has the decision to make whether they want to do it or not, based on the medical facts...i myself started by tanning outside when i was a young teenager, & when the tanning beds came out, i started using those...i`ve been tanning for almost 20 years in the beds & i don`t look like a "shriveled up old prune", in fact i`m usually mistaken for being 15 years younger than my actual age...

I still tan but I feel so guilty doing it. I know how bad it is for you but it makes you look so much better! Slimmer and toner! Tanning is just addictive! I've tried the lotions but I can't get past the awful smell!I don't do it all summer though, just for May and June!

Why do people still eat fast food even though well all know it'll kill us...?

People make the choices, hopefully informed ones, on how they want to live their lives, and if that means taking the risk of looking nasty when they get older, then that's their perogative. If they want to be young, and tan that's their choice....
