You will find Americans are bitterly divided on politics, although Bush's approval ratings are extremely low (30%)
The country is bitterly divided on conservative vs. liberal philosphies. Cons have been waging war on the Libs for several decades now, and the Libs were chumps for taking it.
The opinion of most Americans is that Bush is the worst thing that has happened to us, the worst president in history and an absolute laughable ***. Media makes fun of him constantly. I really believe many of his supports are so embarassed of him that they are shamed into silence.
Unfortunatly, the conservative GOP machine has minipulated governemnt and media to the point where a minority of radical right wingers have enabled a very unpopular ideology to gain control of the nation.
This will correct itself in time, you are seeing the first change of power happening now.
To hightlight just how high the stakes are, the 2008 presidential election campaign started the day after mid-term elections. This is unprecidented.

Bush is an elitist idiot. He steals from the poor and gives to the rich. He ignores important issues like social security, unemployment, and illegal immigration, while obsessing over a bunch of anti-terrorist laws that nobody in America cares about anymore. Plus, his stupidity is an embarrassment to this country. I mean, our president can't even pronounce the word "nuclear" correctly!

Thee Bush Adminstration, and Bush himself, is a perfect example of how fragmented the entire political election process is. You have people who know how to govern, but not how to get elected, and vice versa. Bush is an example of the latter.
Bush could run against Jesus Christ in the Bible Belt of the U.S., and probably win. But once he wins, he has to govern. Something he doesn't know how to do. He has absolutely no business holding office. Unbelievably underqualified.
That pretty much sums it up.

Voted against him twice. I thought he was a dangerous idiot in 1999, I think he's a dangerous idiot now.
He's done more harm to my nation than any one man I can think of in the last 50 years.
It makes me sad that my ancestors fled Ireland for what was a comparatively minor reign of terror.

I don't think he is running the show. I think is the little puppet that gets up and does a dance everytime a lie needs to be sold to the American people. I can't wait for his term to be over. I am quite confident that if we get another Republican President he will continue with the plans of Bushs puppet masters and destroy our country.

I am very disappointed. Though I did not vote for him in either election, I still had a glimmer of hope that maybe he would prove me wrong and do a great job in that first election. By the second election I was disillusioned and awed by his re-election to office after it was clear he deliberately mislead the American people to further his own agenda. It astounds me that he hasn't been held accountable for the repeated scandals his administration has faced.

I believe that this president will go down in American history as a President that has gone through more challenges in office than any other serving President. He does everything in his power to protect us even when his ratings take a hit for it. When he leaves office , the book he will write is a instant best seller.
