You can run cable externally & it'll work.
You have to get two cable splitters & some lengths of cable from Radio Shack or a hardware store/home improvement center. It's pretty easy to DIY.
My apt, had no cable in the bedroom when I moved in & that's what I did.
If you run it by "hugging" the finish trim, it does'nt look bad. In fact you can get white coax cable so it's even more "camoflouged".
Hope this helped, good luck!!

You should call the cable company and see if they can run you outlets in the upstairs. You will probably need some kind of converter to pick up the pay stations. good luck

Sorry, didn't read all of the question. However you can still call the cable company and see if they have any answers.

Your best option is to switch to a satellite provider such as DirectTV or the DISH Network. They will furnish a certain number of receivers for one installation price. The ancillary receivers receive the signal wirelessly from the main receiver. In addition, most offer DVR (digital video recording) which is the greatest thing since sliced bread! The happiest day of my life is when I dumped my cable provider.
