The chicken. The Bible does not say, "God made eggs"... it says (Genesis 1:21) "And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good."

From an evolutional standpoint, the egg, unless the mutation occurred in the chicken. From a standpoint of just any chicken, the egg. From a paradoxial standpoint( is that a word?) as it was intended, neither.

I think that dinosaurs used to lay eggs millions of years ago, before there were any chickens.

I would guess the egg, reason being we had lizards before we had chickens and lizards lay eggs.
