Hi,
I recently injured my finger next to the pinky. I punched the palm of my other hand and unfortunately my ring made contact between the knuckle where the finger meets the hand and the next knuckle down. Anyway, that segment of figure hurt for a week or 2 and subsided. There is a bump on the bone about and eight of an inch in diameter.
I am a little concerned because I play the violin, and it is still sometimes very mildly sore a month later.
Does anyone know what that bumb is and if it will go away?

It could be a bone spur or just in the process of healing. It's your music and if you don't do it who will? Concerning the hands of a musician I suggest seeing a doctor.
