You want Very Unique let's see.......I'm into natural foods so I would want a restaurant that serves healthy food. That taste as good as its competors.
What would make it Unique would be the customers would Pay according to how they liked the food. If the food and service was bad pay nothing. If the food and service were good to excellent pay respectively. If one could not pay then maybe they could work off some kind of service, like cut the grass, clean the windows.

It would not be really too unique because I read about this lady that did that in Seattle, Wa.

I love this question!

First and far most, I like variety, a have-it-all-in-one-place kinda place! so all cuisines are included! i dine out to be pampered and relaxed, which means i don't want to be the one who gets up to get my food--no buffet style.

i want to be waited on. i want a variety of tables. tables in private rooms, tables with more privacy, but not necessarily in a room; something like having the paper walls as separaters like the japenese or chinese would have is great. also have a big room, that is less private, for the casual crowd, in the main restaurant, so it looks like people go to the restuarant, and makes the private rooms different and special. each table should have a service bell, such as the ones that korean restaurants have, and when the bell is activated, the waitress/waiter approaches the table or room. the menu should have pictures for every menu item.

in private rooms, there should be an option to order right off a touch screen for enhanced privacy (no waitress/waiter necessary). the order is then brought in by a waitress. if the party doesn't want to place the order on a touch screen, then push the service button and a waitress/waiter will come to take the orders.

i would place the restaurant in the middle of a body of water. there will be a bridge that leads to the restaurant entrance from the parking lot just off the water. there will be several levels to the restaurant. the higher the level the better the view. top half of levels require reservations. bottom half levels take walk-ins. there will be an outdoor seating area all the way around the restaurant. the very top level will have the same type of outdoor seating.

dress code for the top level will be business casual, and strictly enforced. those who arrive violating the dress code will be seated in the lower levels. the all other levels are business casual recommended, but not enforced. however, the middle level will have a casual dress code.

all staff will be dressed according to the dress code of the level of which they work. The higher the management, the better dressed s/he needs to be. all staff shall have name tags that are visible to the guests.

candles will be light at each table during evening hours. each table has its own adjustable ligthing. music background will be soft jazz or classical. the casual level music will be guests' choice.

that's all i can think of right now... =D

Hi Tommyboy, in fact, these past few months, thoughts about a restaurant have been inhabiting my mind. If I were to have a restaurant, I would change the theme every month, or once every two months. By theme, I am referring to the cuisine theme. Every nation has its own special cuisine, and there are lots to choose from. Say, January is the Philippine month. Then February is the Italian month. March would be Chinese, and so on. I would also make the food affordable to middle-class people without compromising the quality of the food.

I like a clean restaurant with lots of wood in it, kind of like an old-tradition restaurant. Not too much lighting, but ambient. It will have a nice little concert once every week, not the rock and roll type, but music that suits the ambient air, like jazz & pop oldies. Just imagine Diana Krall crooning out her songs, and you get what I mean.

The toilet is the most clean for miles around, and all aspects of it must be within five-star-hotel standards. Toilet cleanliness is important to most customers.

Yes, the buffet idea is good, and with the monthly rotating international cuisine, better. Also, my restaurant will boast of all organic food served on the plates. I can have nothing less.

I was just thinking the other day that a healthier alternative fast food restaurant with a drive thru would be amazing. It would cater mostly to the lunch crowd and would boast deli sandwiches, fruit, veggie dippers, fresh pasta dishes, baked potatoes, grilled chicken sandwiches, grilled cheese, salads, etc. It wouldn't be sooo healthy that it would be unappealing, just nothing fried would be offered. You can still load your sandwiches up with cheese and mayo and order some chips if you'd like.

Although there would be a dining room as well, the big kicker would be the drive thru. People are in such a rush these days and it's difficult to eat semi-healthy on the go. Sure Subway is great if you want to get out of the car, and true almost everywhere offers salads and such but the temptation of fries and burgers is always there.

How about a restaurant that is fast and offers healthy foods? I'd like to see a restaurant rise to the challenge of making desserts tasty and very low calorie and/or low fat.

One thing to remember is to watch temperatures of foods and toppings (such as mayo). If you do a buffet, don't let food be placed on hold too long. There is a danger zone for bacteria growth - one reason I don't like going to buffets, because the food gets held at lukewarm temps too long (41-140 is where bacteria grows).

It would be a totally unique dining experience from the time you walked into the door. People would talk about it and remember it well. My restaurant would be underwater either artificially created or near a hot spot like a reef off of Hawaii. Every seat would have a view of exotic fish swimming around them as well as underneath in the glass floor. The menu would be diverse and offer inexpensive as well as "high" end items. I would discourage children for the most part because they ruin the ambiance, and want to put their dirty little fingers on everything. This would be a place for romance and adults young and old mixed. I would probably make sure none of the fish swimming around you were on the menu. That would be tasteless.

I would have a restaurant/bar, with live music, more like a one man band that plays rock covers and some pop music for dancing, a couple of nights a week, there would be karaoke, chips and salsa would be on the house to those who order drinks.
Variety foods but more on the Mexican side, like tacos dorados, tostadas, chimichangas, also buffalo wings, chicken and steak fingers, salads, hamburgers and sandwiches.
A casual atmosphere for hanging after work with friends and coworkers and have a really good time.

I would want to have a pizza place, but a very fun one that is sort of like Chuck E. Cheese for adults. However, it wouldn't be like Dave and Buster's or one of those places, because it would just have like cool retro nostalgia stuff. In my dream restaurant, 80's pop music would be playing in the background, and there would be cool flat-screen TVs on the wall, each one playing a different 70's or 80's movie or sitcom with the sound turned off. Each table would have little fun retro toys to play with, like a Rubik's cube and Mr. Potato Head, oh, and Simon! I love that game! There would be arcade games there, but not new ones. I'd have old ones like Pac-Man and Frogger and the original Super Mario Bros. Also, I'd have one of those old Whack-A-Mole games that you never see anymore, where you have to hit the little moles back into their holes with a rubber mallet.

My menu would predominantly feature pizza, but I'd also have a funny section called "Alana's Homemade Comfort Food" where there would be things like Spaghetti-O's and Kraft Mac and Cheese that peopole could actually order. I don't think I'd make the wait staff dress up in any dorky costumes, though, because I don't want it to be another stupid theme restaurant- just a neighborhood pizza place with a little fun attached. Oh, and there would definitely be a karaoke stage and we'd have karaoke night every Friday.

Either a "world buffet", where you can get all you can eat from a very large variety of food types. I'd have food like Italian, Chinese, Japanese, American, Mexican, Greek, Ethiopian, etc..
or I'd buy out a strip mall, and use a similar idea. For every retail space I would put a restaurant there, but have them all be different types of foods. The trick is that I'd name them all something like Leonardo's Italian, Leonard's Burgers, Leo's Burritos, Lee's Chinese food, Leonitis' Greek food. Plus I would connect them all with a door, in case there were parties where everybody wanted something different to eat.
