Many species of wasps are also important pollinators, but not kept on farms to pollinate because we don't get honey from them. Wasps also form an important part of the ecology as food for insectivorous animals and predators of other insects.

the purpose of a wasp is to propagate this is very own waspy genes. it somewhat is why those genes geared up a wasp - as a fashion to create greater copies of themselves. this is called Darwinism, human beings!

If wasps didnt exist then their total volume would need to be filled with something so our atmosphere would be a tiny bit smaller ... therefore they help us all breath easier :~)

Wasps are designed by nature to buzz around your ears so you think they are going to sting you.

They only actually sting you when you don't notice them.

Scare the crap out of people, especially when they are swimming in a pool. The only thing they are good for is increasing the time we can hold our breath under water. I hate those damn things.

I believe that they are predators and scavengers. They keep other insect population in check, and they clean up decaying matter.
