Technically, you can't actually be one week pregnant, since pregnancies are dated from the first day of your last period - do you mean you estimate it has been one week since conception?
If this is the case then yes, you are trying to test waaaaaay too early.
Why would you think you might be pregnant at this early stage of the game? I mean there is no way to tell. If you are trying to look for telltale signs in the way your body is behaving you need to be aware of two things:
First, most of the symptoms of early pregnancy will mimic the symptoms of PMS - it's difficult to tell them apart. SOme women will tell you they absolutely knew when they were one week pregnant because they had "all the signs", but these women seem to conveniently forget that the other 75-80% of women who also reported "all the signs" turned out NOT to be pregnant. Honest, at this point it's just too soon to be sure.
Second, the levels of pregnancy hormone in your body usually don't reach a sufficient level to really give you true pregnancy symptoms until about 1-2 weeks after your missed period - that is 3-4 weeks after conception - and when you are about 5-6 weeks pregnant.
Doing a home pregnancy test at this point would be of no real use at all. Not even a blood test just one week after conception would give a completely reliable result. We don't test women at the IVF clinic until 9 or 10 days after embryo placement - those women have a 3 day head start AND we KNOW there are embryos in there.
To get a reliable result (that is, to avoid the risk of a false negative or a false positive "chemical" pregnancy) you are better off waiting until at LEAST two weeks after intercourse, or better yet, wait until your period is a full week overdue, and then test.
If you had conceived a week ago, the embryo probably would not have even implanted yet and started interacting with your body.

Its to soon to tell, you have to wait at least a week after your missed period to take those tests. If you know your monthly schedule you should be able to figure out when then is, wait a week and try to at home test again. The test may be correct but if you read the literature that came with it you'll see that a false negative is more likely than a false positive. Im not trying to stress you out more just to keep you informed. Good luck either way!

Stress can cause your period to come late. When is your period due exactly? If you had sex a week ago and your period should come...say today and hasn`t, then it should show up if you are pregnant. You can wait a few more days and then take another test, it usually works best if you pee on the stick in the morning time.

It's too early to take a test. You can take an early response test about five days before the start of your next period.

It's too early to tell. I would wait until you are late for your period. Stressing about it will also make you late.
I'm guessing you had unprotected sex and that's why you're worrying. If you turn out NOT to be pregnant, let this be a lesson to you if you're not ready for a baby.

its not when you have sex
its when your period is due.
you need to stop having sex and learn about sex your period and pregnancy.
you get pregnant when you ovulate that's two weeks before your next period approximately.
you only need to do a pregnancy test if your period is late. any time before that i will always be negative
