Do you believe that there is an elderly GRANDMOTHER out there who has graduated at the tender age of 95 years old? She is an inspiration to me as i will be following her footsteps. Do you believe that there is a limit to education?

There is no limit to education. I find that I learn a lot from my grand parents and vice versa. But, it was instilled at a young age that we have a lot of opportunities that weren't afforded to our elders. I think back in the day, there was a different type of commitment to family. So beyond the fact that is wasn't affordable or even attainable, mothers and fathers were more likely to put career, education, hopes, and dreams on the backburner. I think our generation is learning how to encompass a hard working family, but also realize our dreams.

If my grandfather were to walk across the stage and receive his degree, I would be the happiest person in the room. It's not about whether or not he's going to get a chance to use it, but in terms of fulfilling a personal goal. When I graduated from college, we had an 83 year old man who graduated with a bachelors. He received a standing ovation. We should learn from and recognize their hard work and commitment.

There is no way to ever know everything there is to know in this world. I think it's awesome that a 95 year old had the energy to earn a college degree, and I do think that if I were facing mortality without a college degree (or something else that I always wanted), I'd go ahead and do it. Good for her!

No- you should never stop learning! When I was in college, there was a 74-year-old woman in my Women's Studies class. She wasn't going for a degree- she was just auditing a few classes in her retirement, but she told me she had always wanted to go to college, but never had been able to before due to financial constraints. I think education is wonderful and valuable, no matter how old you are.

She could have continued to learn without taking a space away from a young person who would have been accepted. As400_gu, You're a bigger idiot. What is a 95 year old woman going to do with a Degree. Show it off at Bingo in the Nursing Home?

First off all, DeeDee, you are an idiot. What government sanctioned child abuse indoctrination center (public school), did you attend?

To answer your question, there is no limit to what a person can learn and there is no age too old to learn it.

that's outstanding. I think if you stop learning, your dying. Just imagine a world where you've "been there, and done that" so much that there was nothing new to experience and learn. what a drag.
