There could be a couple of things that it could be!!
-For one if you have your bluetooth turned on that actually drains the battery alot more then if it wasn't turned on!! If it is turned on just go into your main menu and turn it off!
- Another reason could be If you use the phone(talking wise) more then 3 hours a day that also drains the phone!!
- Or i could just be the battery is just a bad battery that won't keep a charge so ehat you should do is take it back to where you bought it from and have them swap out the battery!
-Or the last thing is that it could just be a faulty phone! Where there is something wrong with the charging port or something internally! In that case do the same thing with the phone that you would do for the faulty battery!!

Are you sure it's charging? I have an LG phone that the charging process wasnt' working on.
We have 3 of the same LG phones, we thought there was something wrong with one of the batteries, kept moving the battery between the phones. The problem followed the phone, not the battery. Got a replacement phone under warranty - problem solved.
Try turning off the phone, plug it into the charger - you should see the phone go into charging mode. If it doesn't, I'd suspect the phone itself.
You can also take it to the store you got it from, they can test both the phone and battery for you.

No.
Your battery maybe has some fabric failure.
The Li-ion battery has internal circuits that limitated the current when they are drained out to prevent its selfdestruction as well as another circuit that Automatically disconnects the battery from the power that charging it.
so its impossible that a overnight charging can damage a battery because when the battery is totally charged, it won't drain more power from the wall charger.

ive had cell phones for like 6 years, and i always charge them overnight and have never had a problem with it. Im pretty sure that once it is done charging, it just stops. it will say charge complete, and it will stop charging.

did you give your batt a proper first time charge?
i always make sure the first few rounds of charging are done properly - charge for at least 10hours and discharging it fully before i charge it the next time for another 10hours.
i alway charge all my previous and current phones overnight and none of them have lousy batt life.

It depends on the battery maker...warranty and so ...but generally speaking it shouldn't do that.
