They established a relatively prosperous and secure quasi-independent state in spite of Saddam after the first Gulf War, as you would know if you had actually studied the issue. I'd be more worried about what they might do to the rest of Iraq, except I think they mainly want to be left alone.

Oh, and since you're such a Kurdophile, what language do the Kurds speak? What is the religion of most Kurds? Be specific. To what other Middle Eastern ethnic group are they most closely related?

Also, why did the U.S. under Reagan/Bush tacitly permit Saddam's gassing of the Kurds in the 80s? Hint: It has something to do with the ethnic group they're most closely related to.

The Kurds are practically a country in themselves. They are and have been the most stable part of the country. They were subject to Saddam's attacks because he had the full power of the Iraqi army and treasury, but there is no such threat to them now.

As for the internal politics between Iran, Turkey, and the Kurds, I think that this is matter between them. The Kurds kinda got the shaft because their defacto country has been split between three countries. By all rights their region should be one unified country under their rule.

First there is no leaving tomorrow. When pressed, Democratic Strategist Hillary Conner told ABC news that the Democrats will leave a small security force in Iraq to control the violence (man are these people living in a dream world!).

Leaving just means that everybody but the Sunnis will die; but hey 8 million people will only be the beginning to the terror reigned down by Pelosi and her thugs.
