For those who want to say missile defense isn't perfected yet, you may forget that cruise missiles were VERY failure-proned when they were first developed.
But, they were perfected with time.

Ok, so we don't do anything to let our citizens know we are watching the situation in Russia. China is no longer quite so friendly and their allegiances are leaning toward Iran & Russia. Paying in EU $ ... the dog food wheat gluten came from someone not minding US exports out of China? Perhaps? The uranium to China for their nuc program's some allegedly came from Australia? Who's hooking up is alittle suspicious to me. Who watching? Me for one. Atleast something even if 10 missiles do nothing against the Russians it's some warning to the bad guys in my opinion.

Missile defense is often seen as a offensive measure by other powers such as Russia. IF we actually get a defense dome up and running, it means they no longer have deterance, which would rightfully freak them out. The Dems may be trying to not piss Russia off, because according to them having a good diplomatic image is the most important thing in the world.
Also, they could be opposing it because they love to hate the defense contractors that are developing it. Anything that involves war or weapons is evil in their idealogical world. We've seen plenty of evidence of this on Yahoo Answers.
A Democrat President will most likely slash military funding into decay and focus on diplomacy like Clinton did. It may work out until something that would actually require a large military commitment comes up ( Like Rwanda) and we're forced to do nothing again.

Priorities my good man, priorities.. lets think.. who has the technology to bomb the east coast.. Europe? don't see that happening.. Russia? not a problem anymore.. China? maybe.. but we are friendly with them these days.... definitely not terrorists.. no way they could get their hands on an ICBM without taking over one of the nations listed above.. that's not going to happen... so why spend the money on that when we can spend it on homeland security?

Missle-defense systems are a pipe-dream. They don't work nor will they ever work.
Its a gigantic waste of taxpayer dollars, especially considering Russia ALREADY has a missle capable of dancing circles around even the most advanced missle-defense system we have.
Get real.
