I believe that true beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I have seen certain people who are together and by the "standards" that are usually set for us, they would not fit the pattern. I know that there has to be some kind of 'physical attraction' first - eyes, teeth, hair - something that physically attracts us to others - but when we get down to the real person, we can determine if we really are desiring them for the outside beauty or the beauty that is inside. It depends upon who you are attracted to - personally, I like men who are might height , and I have dated men who were shorter. I also like men who wear glasses - who like to read - the guys that some people would call 'geeks' - but I have found that these guys have much to say and I love good conversations.

Okay there is this friend, and she is so pretty. And her boyfriend is kinda weird looking. But she thinks he "too cute".
This this hot guy, and he is married to the most plain girl I have ever seen. But he loves her madly and has made her the standard for beauty. When comparing the chicks on What About Bryan, he said that none of them had the perfect nose, or mouth, or eyes, annd on and on andonandonandonandon.................like his wife.
So yes...Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. When you love someone all you see is the beauty that is within all people.

So we are told, but no. If it was then there wouldn't be all these expensive treatments and surgeries to make us more " beautiful". Who tells us what's pretty and what's not? The media. They make unrealistic images of people and suddenly everyone has to look like that to be beautiful. It's discusting. It is part of the reason why there are so many suicides and such low self-esteem. It's because people taunt other people, because they don't have the look that other people are telling us is right. I think we are all beautiful, in everyway. We are each unique and should never try to change our appearence to look like someone else.

No. Scientific studies have been made that there is a standard for beauty and that people usually would agree when someone is attractive or ugly. This is why good-looking women (and women that wear makeup) make 20-30 percent more money than women who don't.

of course - don't you ever look at a couple and think "what the?" how did that happen? there is no telling what another will find attactive - and that is a good thing - imagine how many people would be single if men only found supermodel types attractive and women only found Brad Pitt types attractive - the world would be in a population crisis... no one to keep the economy going!

To a certain extent. We all have our different tastes. But there are some people that even if you're not attracted to them you can appreciate they'll universally be perceived as attractivel
