There might be nothing at all in it but.....

If you mean the rabbit permanently has one ear up and one down, it could be the beginnings of a head tilt. This is a relatively common syndrome in rabbits, usually a result of an infection by e. cuniculi, a parasite exclusive to rabbits that affects the brain. Not many people are aware that rabbits should in fact be regularly wormed to avoid them contracting this, because once they have it it never fully clears up. Panacur paste especially for rabbits is available to prevent and treat this.

Of course if your rabbit's ear just drops down occasionally, I would say it's nothing more than what the other answerers have suggested! But if you mean one ear is permanently down, watch your rabbit - if his head starts to tilt or he starts walking in circles, or seems ill at all, take him to a vet.

I had a rabbit for 8 yrs. An Albino (sometimes called and African Snow Rabbit). Rabbits, like dogs with long upright ears will sometimes fold the ear over. Ours did this on occasion. The vet told us there was nothing to be concerned about. Also depending on the breed you have such as a lop eared rabbit.

The rabbit could have heard something faint but not sharp enough to get they're full attention (or they're just lazy), There could be something wrong with the rabbits ear eg it might be sore or there might be an infection ( Lop eared bunnys are prone to ear infections), or the rabbits just born that way!

My bunny does this all the time. He is so charming when he does it. Some rabbits do this because they just need one ear to listen to the sound they are hearing. Or they are lying down and it's their natural position. Don't worry if you're asking if something is wrong with your rabbit. There is nothing wrong with this. I hope this helped. =)
