I have been working in my job for 4 years and in the begining everything was hunky dorey with my boss. We talked not only on work issues, but on a personal level like co-workers would and then all of a sudden he got all cold and quiet and really kind-of bitchy acting. I know I didn't do anything wrong because he did the same thing to another female employee. They rarely ever talk, unless it is crucial to get a job done. I just feel like he is being so unprofessional. I do all my work and meet all my deadlines, but nothing seems good enough. Does anyone have advice???

It's always difficult from the boss' position to have an employee as a close friend. He might have been accused of "playing favorites."

well, your boss may be having personal problems that have gone far beyond your normal every day (usual) talks or one of your coworkers are putting in a highly stressful situation... I had one of them with my coworkers and as the boss my employee crossed my line (my verbal rule about friendships) and I turned to a ***** in under 3 sec...

As long as your getting your work done, and done as expected, don't worry about being friends with him. He may have other issues he is dealing with that he simply can't talk about to you. It may be, too, that he was afraid he was getting on to friendly a level with you as a supervisor. (which may not be ok with his boss)

Your boss may have been told to not be so friendly with his employees.
