I like Borders better than any other, but we don't have a Barnes and Noble in the UK. I buy most of my books online from Amazon.

By far my favorite was Borders when I lived in a big town. Every week they had three of four things happening -- live musical performances and author's discussing their books. I also went to Half-Price Books all the time. 1/2 Price Rocks!!
Now that I'm in Smallville, New England I'll peruse the bookstore for books I might like, then I'll check online to see if my library can get it for my reading pleasure. If not then I'll order it on Amazon.

Half-Price Books - the company originated here in Dallas and I worked at the main store on Northwest Hwy for several years. You never know what treasures you're going to find in there!
If I can't find it at Half-Price I will generally order a book online from Amazon, or from an individual seller through AbeBooks (great site if you're looking for rare or out-of-print stuff) - I'm a fan of buying used books whenever I can get them and they're usually cheaper.

Borders. At least where I live. It's the biggest book store and has all the books that I need. Or if you're looking for internet sources, I also like Amazon.com the best. Just type in the book you want and .........WHALA! The book is there for you to order. After a week the book arrives at your house! If you're asking wich one I prefer, I prefer online. It's easier.

I like Barnes and Noble, and also Hastings, for new chain book stores. I really like the feel of small, independent bookstores better, though.
As far as used bookstores: Half-Price Books (wish that it were closer to me here in Indiana, PA), and my favorite of all is Longman's in Flagstaff, AZ (I sure hope it is still there...I moved away from Flagstaff about 10 years ago)

We have a store called "Half priced Books". They have most if not all current books and many older books. Prices are close to 50% off the other book stores in the area.

I frequent Barnes and Noble as well as Amazon. Sometimes Amazon has great prices, or editions of books not available at B&N. B&N has great Italian leather journals and things like that.

Barnes and Noble. The one near me has 3 floors, 2 cafes and really comfy chairs. I could spend all day there.
