I know that this is going to sound stupid, but you asked!

When I am blue, I like to put on old '80's dance tunes and boogey around the house. I put on the music, and eventually I am in a better mood.

It doesn't work though if I am really sad.

I try and give myself a day or so, hour or whatever I need to really feel the blue and then I MAKE myself snap out of it and do what Im supposed to do. I turn on all the lights in the house to "wake it up" turn on a nice movie or some light hearted music and go! We take the time to work, sleep, have fun but its a bad thing to take the time to be blue? I say we all need it every once in awhile. Hey, sometimes life can be tough.

I force myself to do something that will show a positive result, like washing my car or make something like a nice necklace for myself (getting creative) etc. When I feel blue, those are the last things I feel up to, but if I force myself to do it, it actually takes away the feeling and the result makes me feel worthy again. Also what helps me, if I don't feel creative at all, I get into my car and drive somewhere even if it's "nowhere", seeing the outside of my immediate surroundings also helps a bit.

I'm feeling blue right now, and I can't think of anything to do to get back in the game ... sigh.

Relax, and leave all my worries behind...
I love taking long, warm, and sweet cranberry-smelling bubble baths. Ofcourse, while drinking a big glass of Shirley Temple and listening to Lene Marlin or Sarah McLachlan.

I also meditate and pray, especially when it's so severe...

I try to re-connect with hobbies and things I enjoy. I try to take some selfish "me" time, and try to remember to smile. Often, I can lighten my moods with music as well, but I have to be careful: listening to too much Joy Division, Jesus & Mary Chain, and Sisters of Mercy can have the wrong effect.

Listen to music, pray and rest.
After that, I need lunch or a movie with a good friend.
That usually does the trick.
