When people get together and begin a relationship, it is important that they discuss their dreams and desires. If you are dating someone and they are not 'on board ' with your desires and dreams, I am not sure that you need to be with that person. I have always been up front with guys that I have met. I always tell them that I am a performer and that my time is valuable because I have to travel and be in front of the public. Many of them will 'agree' that it's okay, until they find out if your schedule rarely meets with their own. Having a career that puts you in front of the camera can also be intimidating to a man. You have to be honest and open and up front. If they cannot stand the heat - they have to get out of the kitchen. Sorry.

Boys come and go. If you want this pageant do it! Forget him he's not worth it if he doesn't support you 100%. If you stay with him and give up something you love you will regret it in the future. Trust me on this one I lived through this I just gave up something different. And you know what? 10 years later I'm married to another guy who is 100% supportive! He's the best thing ever!

You're dating someone VERY insecure. Most normal people are happy for someone who achieves a goal.
There is little chance you can do worse, talk to the guy, ask what his problem is, what he's afraid of? Tell him he should be proud to be dating you, (a beauty contest winner, or not), and happy for you winning the contest. If the two of you can work it out, great.
If not, move on. I have no doubt you can do better.
Congratulations!

I think that a partner should support you and trust you. I was once given the opportunity to e a fashion stylist to a famous celebrity and my then partner stopped me. I have never forgotten and have always regretted my stupid decision. On the other hand my husband supports me whatever because we are secure in our relationship.

If he gets upset than he can go. He should be happy for me not upset with me. He can either support the things I like and do or he can hit the road.

If the bf loves the gf then there shouldn't have to be a choice. The bf should be able to support the gf. If it 's ment to be then she'll be there at the end and so will he.
