Yes, it is, when they want to be the one to broadcast the event. I don't know however, if they are necessarily supposed to pick the debators. I think the party is the one that should do that.

So they want serious candidates in the debate.....big deal. Maybe they are trying to avoid the kind of scene from last nights "debate."
