I know they say that to open any kind of business you need experience in the field you wanna open. But what if you wanna start a big succesful arcade business. I mean I dont think anybody would need eperience there, all you do is rent or buy a place, buy some arcade machines and evrything else, and thats it. People will come and will pay to play the games and thats about it right? Dont need any experience right?

Have you heard the term "LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION"
It is so true If you pick a location due to it being a good size building but it has little traffic going by and is surrounded by retirement homes, your not going to be rolling in money.

1 you need a location with a demographic you are seeking.
2 your building will have to have an electrical service large enough to support your electrical needs.
3 you will need to be able to maintain the games ( the do break down)
4 you would want an attendant to minimize abuse to the game and building.
5 Advertising/Marketing is a must
6 Being able to do accounting of the money coming in, going out, and saved.
7 And you should have Ideas of a draw to your establishment (ie: $10 for free plat from 7pm to 12pm Fridays, or birthday party's, tournaments, etc)

BTW most arcades today are not just arcades because the cost of the games alone are very expensive and do not make a large enough return quick enough to pay for itself. So you have to come up with Ideas that will add income to support the cost of the games. After game debt is gone or very low up grading by installing new software, tr dding in a game for another, or selling a game becomes practical.

Anyway good luck, dreams are great but don't let the wake up be bankrupt, plan plan plan.
