I just finished one question about Firefox locking up and did follow the advice of uninstalling and reinstalling it. However, there is a problem with the bookmarks that took place both before and after the uninstall. If I go to a site and want to bookmark it, the dialogue box comes up where I add the bookmark. However, clicking the OK button does nothing. In other words, Ctrl+D or clicking Bookmark This Page no longer lets me actually bookmark the site. The OK button clicks but nothing happens.

My guess is your security software is blocking Firefox in some way.

Try turning them off, temporarily, first. Your Firewall is the most likely culprit.

What you need are two thinigs:

1) For your bookmarks problem, use Delicious
http://del.icio.us for more on this look up this question here on Yahoo Answers:
"What's the difference between FAVORITES and BOOKMARKS?"
I responded to this question with a better solution for you when it comes to bookmarks or Favorites.

2) For you Firefox Problem, Try downloading the newest version of FireFox.
If that doesn't work for you, then do what I did. Forget Firefox, but don't use plain old Internet Explorer. Download Maxthon Browser.
http://www.maxthon.com
It runs on the IE Engine, but is more secure, has more features, it's skinable, lots of goodies and most plugins you'll need come built in. There are plenty other ones you can add to it too.
I bet you, once you start using Maxthon, you won't go back.

I was tired of plain IE, Had Tried Firefox, but still thought I needed something else or better. When I instlled Maxthon, I did it as a test and haven't looked back. That was over a year ago.

I've experienced that thing.... in my Xp....
I uninstalled it... waited for 1 WEEK.... and installed again...
it worked (for me)...
If you don't want to do the install-uninstall thing, just drag the favicon of the website to the bookmarks...

It is almost definately a vista-firefox relations issue. Sorry dude, you're either going to have to use IE or get rid of that digital abortion known as Vista.

i have merely spent the perfect 5 minutes twiddling with my bookmarks haha. attempt going to the e book mark tab and bypass to "set up Bookmarks" and from there you could drag you e book marks to the position you want them on the demonstrate. wish that enables, solid success!
