I have a snowflake eel used to have a chainlink but he found a hole and i didnt find him in time. So now hes gone and the snow flakes happy(got bullied by this guy). Now i do want to replace the eel but not with a chainlink. Ive though of zebra, barred, snowflakes, and a jeweled(the kind that grows to 2-2.5 feet not the 5 footer. Just wanted to know which ones you thought i could do in this tank that wouldnt bully the snowflake OR if i could put a new chainlink in without the snowflake thinking the bully came back if i get a smaller one that is.

Chains are supposedly one of the most "peaceful" of the morays, but will be smaller than your snowflake as an adult. If you get one of these, I'd try and get one about the same size as your current eel.

Zebras are nice and have a long life span.

Even though multiple eels can be kept in the tank, just be prepared if there are any territoriality issues from your present eel.

I agree with copperhead here, however I would go with another snowflake. I've kept a few all together in my reef tank with no problems, unfortunately they do grow larger than 2.5 feet. As with any species of eels, there are no guarantees there won't be fights for the best spots.

As far as feeding habbits, all the eels I've had over the years will do fine on YOUR feeding schedule not theirs, so feeding preferences aren't much of an issue.

You can go with another chainlink. Fish can identify each other so there won't be any confusion with your snowflake mistaking the new one for the old bully.

Personally I would go for the barred or zebra of those choices. Both are reasonably close in size to the snowflake and have similar feeding habits.
