We just scored Red Sox tickets for Mother's Day weekend and need to find a nice hotel. Fun, not frumpy and with a nice place for us to have a drink at night but still bring our kids.

Thanks!!!! I went with Marriott Copley. Hotel Commonwealth would have been my first choice if it were just my husband&I . Oh, and not $350 per night.!!!! Thanks to everyone

There's a Howard Johnson located right next to Fenway ( http://www.resideo.com/us/massachusetts/boston/23407493.hotel ). Within a half-mile there's a Sheraton & a Hilton, which might be good bets too.
Ok, this is cool. Visit this URL ( http://www.resideo.com/us/massachusetts/boston/ ), click 'Check Availability', choose your dates and submit. When the results show up, click the 'Distance from' option and choose 'Fenway Park' from the dropdown. You'll get a list of hotels with rates, ordered by their distance from Fenway, that you can book right online.
Have a great trip!

The Hotel Commonwealth is nice, but it is a 4 Star Fancy hotel. They have a great restaurant. Not sure if with the kids you're looking for something more relaxed. There is a Howard Johnson close to the park as well. . . Otherwise, you could stay downtown, and then just take the train to Kenmore Square. The Raddison is always my best bet for downtown. Enjoy the game!

Hotel Commonwealth is the new hotel in Kenmore Square, right down the street from Fenway Park. It's not cheap, but is a very nice 4 star hotel.

The Sheraton near/at the Prudential Center. I've stayed here, it's very nice.
It's walking distance to Fenway, several blocks. It's connected to the Prudential Center "mall", so you've got all the resaurants (i.e. Legal Seafood, California Pizza Kitchen..) and stores. There is a nice indoor pool and excercise facility. Also the Top of the Hub restaurant in the Pru, for the mega view of Boston at night - expensive - but fun for a cocktail or 2.

There is NO hotel within walking distance of Fenway or even within a few subway stops that is "fun, not frumpy", with a nice bar or restaurant lounge, that does not charge rates that might require you to remortgage. Give up the requirement for an in-house bar, however, and there are a handful, also nice guest houses and B&Bs.

Looks like Priceline has a good range of hotels for reasonable prices (at least by Boston standards) The Bullfinch Hotel is listed at $201 - this would be a reasonable hotel at a moderate rate. (3 stars). It's located close to North Station, which is also by the North End (our Little Italy - fun area). The North Station green line will deliver you right to Kenmore Sq - the stop you want to go to Fenway. Warning about green line - there is another stop that is called Fenway. DONT take that one - it's an area called Fenway and not the park - a bit further away. Have fun!
