Similarities:
- America involved in a war they have no business being in.
- War unpopular as a result.
- War run by incompetent administrators that don't listen to their generals.
Differences:
- Costs in money and casualties (someone already nailed it: one cost more, but the other cost more lives).
- Jungle versus desert.
- Technologically different.
- No real air war or dog fights.
- Religious and economic motivation for one war, power and political motivation for the other.
-Respect for the troops better in current war.
- Intensity of the war opponents MUCH higher for Vietnam.
The rest remains to be seen. I'm not fool enough to jump to any conclusions on what will happen.

In terms of money spent, Vietnam is not even close to Iraq. In terms of deaths, its vice versa.

I think that is an ignorant statement made by someone who chooses to let the mass media dictate what he thinks and how he feels.
Do your own research. Talk to people who used to be oppressed there, talk to people who have a genuine interest in the outcome of the war, then form your own educated opinion.

Vietnam's war expose that living human kind do not know how to win any war or internal cnflicts without our creator in planet of apes.
Iraq's war was over after the fall of Saddam in planet of apes.
What went wrong out there was created back in the past with blunders and slip-ups with human errors in the creation of living human kind into mankind of intelligent design being created with artificial intelligence of artificial design from the graveyards of failures and horrors of the past being expose with time in idol worshiping the dead Mummy and not in worshiping God in planet of apes.
The mess can only be solve in following our creator's instruction manual whether we like it or not in planet of apes.
So "How long" are we going to let the women and children in Iraq to continue on living in misery at our expense with self prides of self images of standing idol still standing out there all over planet of apes in not worshiping God in planet of apes?
Ever wonder do we let them be the last of the Mohican with self prides of self images of standing idol being strike down by our creator in planet of apes?

Nowhere close. Religious infighting instead of a defined enemy, draftee soldiers vs regular troops, not even remotly on scale for casualties.
