Lets say I get married to a lady who already has 2 kids from a previous marriage. Then, 2 or 3 years later, she dumps me and tries to sue for everything she can get.
- Do I have to pay child support for the kids that I never produced in the first place?
(I live in Ontario, Canada by the way.)

If I don't get her pregnant myself, so none of the children in the marriage are from me, do I still have to pay to support them for the rest of my life??

Unless you adopt the children you are not responsible for them in the event of divorce. But ... This relationship is certainly on shaky ground. Why would either of you even consider marriage if you are think divorce is a possibility in 2-3 years? Where's the trust?

She can. I live in Ontario as well. I have a few friends that have gotten royally screwed by marrying or just living with a woman that has kids. Two of the men that i know are paying for kids they didnt produce, they are not paying the mother they are paying the FATHER. If you live with a woman and support her and her kids, the father,if he is paying child support can take you to court and sue YOU for child support payments. Isn't that wonderful. I thought the first guy was full of crap until i started paying attention and met the second. Go to your lawyer and have the papers drawn up that you relinquish all rights, even if you dont have them. Get the mother to sign them and have it documented in court. I'm not sure if there are any web sites that address this matter but talk to a lawyer and that should give you good answers.

No!! Only if you legally adopt the children. Now if you are a wealthy man and she becomes accustom to your lifestyle -- then depending on the laws in your country you may have to pay spousal support for a short while. But as far as the children are concerned it's up to you how you handle the situation. But NO you'll not have to pay support unless you choose too.

I dont live in Canada myself; I'm a USA citizen; but I would about swear to it that the answer to your question is NO.
Although with the divorces occuring every single day in the USA....maybe if that became a law alot less ppl would jump at marriage since todays society gives about a 99% guarantee that it would have ended in divorce anyways, unfortunately.

She can "try" anything she wants (and I bet her lawyer is behind this greed to some extent). If you did not adopt these kids I doubt you will have to pay (doesn't she collect already from their dad?) I hope you learned your lesson... never ever marry a woman with kids. Always have a DNA test all all children she claims is yours (married or not) otherwise you may be raising another mans seed.

yep you do! believe it or not you have to pay for someone else's children! i live in ontario canada as well and a friend of mine is going through this right now.....he married her had one child (she had one from a previous marriage) and they divorced 2 years later. he now has to pay child support (800 bux a month...400 per child) to keep them comfortable in the lifestyle he had provided to them for the 2 years they were together.
i couldnt belive that when he told me....i thought it was insane! but he is in court every other month trying to get it ammended.
contact the family court in your area and ask them.

absolutely Not only if you legally adopted them and if she tells you that you have to, let her bring you to court and have to judge laugh her butt out of there.
I tell you some women will do anything to no extend to blame everybody else for her short comings instead of holding her self accountable. I am a women and I have witnessed so much in the court system that makes me so sick. Good luck buddy and don't worry, she can not make you responsible for someone else's children.

If you are even worried about divorce before getting married, then run like hell! You have no obligation to pay support for her kids, but there seems to be a bigger question you should ask yourself.

I'm not sure about Canada but in Kentucky, usa. In KY you would not have to pay child support unless you adopted them.
