Hi,

I'd like to transfer money from my Barclaycard to an external current account. Preferably online. Does anyone know if this is possible? If so, how?!?

Thanks
Matt

Do you have any of those 'Credit Card Cheques' they sometimes issue ? If so, I guess you can just fill one in and send it to your Bank. I assume it counts as a 'cash withdrawal' so will cost 2.5%.

I guess you could make a payment using the B'card to some place where you can withdraw the funds to your Bank Account.

For example, PayPal (use B'card to add funds, then go into PayPal and withdraw the funds (it will cost you about 5 or 6% since both B'card and PayPal will charge you).

If it's a different bank, just get their routing # account # and what branch the account was opened and them wire transfer the funds to the other party. In most cases it will go thru by the end of the day. If it's the same bank, just withdraw the funds and if you have their info, make the deposit.

Is it a debit card? If so set up a bill payment online, it stores the sort code and account no but will only send payments as you request them. it is sent through bacs so takes 3 to 5 working days to arrive but should be free (unlike electronic transfers).

PS barclays are not a good current account provider they pay like 0.20% interest when you could get around 50 times more. try nationwide (if you switch your current account before 11 may and have £1000 credit a month you could get £100 cash), their overdraft rate is lower also as well as using your card free abroad.
