You get married because its wonderful. It makes a commitment with another human who will be closer to you, warts and all, than any other human on the planet. You get married because the though of starting a day seeing her head on the pillow make you happy. Because the thought of belonging to each other fills you with joy.
Its not for security, and that goes for either sex. Security isn't a given for money, you can leave the wedding reception and get into an accident and never make another dime, leaving her to earn it all, so any security you mention is illusory at best.
And not all married people choose to or are able to reproduce, so its not that either.
Its love, the thick and thin, in richer or poorer, good times and bad, sickness and health kind of love that makes you want to marry.

I dont know why people have to get married legally. I dont think that in the distant past they had an office set up with a person sitting there giving written authority that people were married, I believe that you are married as long as you live and act as husband and wife. Look after, care for and remain monogamous to your partner. Now in the present yes that piece of paper offers a few securities; life insurance, ssi payments after the death of spouse, saves a lot of head ache, but so does a will written by and for each spouse. Marriage is becoming a joke, how many people have been married numerous times, divorced, have children with different spouses each time. No one really takes the sanctity of marriage serious anymore. I dont want to be married again, because i feel that i was a hypocrite, i married young and was divorced after 5 years. I think that a marriage should be forever, that there should be no divorce. People should date longer and know each other a lot better first. This is only my opinion, but a marriage should be about love security monogamy support caring and procreation. I hope I haven't offended anyone with my opinion, i just dont feel that you should get married so you can have sex.

Legal security. If you are married it's not easy to cheat your partner and if you do cheat you might have to pay a handsome amount of money to your partner even after divorce. For girls, marriage is security but marriage is a mutual procedure so boys too have to do it. Your point increasing population is wrong. To increase you don't need to get married. You need to have s*x for that and in many countries in Europe you can have a kid without getting married. So marriage is a complete legal practise.

3) Discipline,character and quality of living improves by the habit of marriage among humans as compared to that prevail among animals.
4) Add and subtract(credit and debit) the good and bad effects of a marriage, the the bottom line makes one more happy than w/o a marriage.
5) This is a major issue that makes humans distinctly superior to animals.
6) It helps living organised with continuity ,generation after generation.
7) This is what majority of humans prefer byexperience over a long period of experiments in the way of living .

I think it's varied. Some people do it for religious reasons, some for legal, and some to simply celebrate their love for one another. Some, for all of the above.
I can't marry for certain reasons, but I'd like more than anything to have the option. Just the thought of a celebration and ceremony simply because two people are in love and committed....can't even imagine how awesome that would feel.

Dear, Well I m not married but According to me A person wants to get marry bcoz nobody lives alone for a long, everyone needs a life partner & a men & a women is a best friends. In India it is neccessary to get marry for a couple for living togather. So this a publically permission to a couple, get marry & live together.

Well, it is certainly obvious that you need to know what marriage is, because you know nothing.
Marriage is about love only. When two people meet and fall in love, they will never be able to be without that person. (If it's true love). When they know eachother inside and out for years and that is definitely how they still feel, marriage is making a commitment to eachother that they're going to spend the rest of their lives together. That's it!
