In a hurray say from Jacksonville Florida to LA is about 2500 miles you could do that in 3 days. More relaxing ride in 5 days. But to be comfortable and staying off the interstate system it would take 7 days.

But if you are talking lets say from Miami to Seattle that abut 3500 miles, it would take another day or two.

My husband and I just got back from Hawaii. After checking into all of the possibilities on ALL of the travel sites. We went with a cruise. We Flew to Hawaii and took the Norwegian Cruise line cruise around the islands. We flew into Honolulu, boarded the ship. Stopped 1 full day in Hilo, went from there to Maui, stayed 2 days then 1 day at Kona, and 2 days at Kauai and then back to Honolulu. IT WAS WONDERFUL we are going back next year.We already made our reservations on the ship. After all the research we found it to be the least expensive. Food and lodging is included in the price of the cruise as is all entertainment on the ship. Even with the price of the flight round trip from Reno NV. We spent less than 5000. And we got to see more than just one island. We couldn't decide which island we wanted to stay on so this was better for us. The price of the nice hotels was really high. And food on the islands is high too. Even burger King wanted 12.00 for just a hamburger meal. So we ate on the ship. Do some searching on the travel sites like orbitz and travelocity. That way you can compare. Good luck and Aloha!! lol

That would just depend on how much riding you want to do in a day. It is roughly 2800 miles, so at an average of 60mph (taking into consideration stopping for gas, food, etc) it would take about 48 hours. Figure 10 hours a day, and you could do it in 5 days.

If you just want to go from a to b about 2 to 2.5 days. The last time I did it I went from CA to FL then back to NM. Took 7 weeks. It was a beautiful ride using mostly 2 lane highways and really enjoying the ride.

Take your time lot's to see. Besides helmet head tired butt and fatague. Windshield really helps. Large displacement motor and small gastank will require fuel stops to be planned. There is lots of miles between towns out west. 2 gallons strapped to the sissy bar might help.

New york to L.A. is a little under 3000 miles. So just decide how many miles you want to drive a day and divide.
