i hear my name being said and i turn around and--nothing. needless to say i start to get annoyed. i feel like someone is trying to get my attention but i am too dense to find them. its been going on for years. i even went to a psychic once and she said 'they talk you, but you wont listen, why?' its not that i wont listen, i dont know how.
am i alone in this? am i crazy and simply hearing voices in my head? ( they are not 'in' my head they are definately around me )
also, i dont see them but sometimes i smell something, perfume, lotion, yucky stuff. but no one else in the room can smell it. any input would be appreciated, if im nuts, so be it, but if not then it would be nice to know

I'm almost sure you are not nuts...judging by the little I know of you. If you did not listen you would not hear anything. This is true for most other people.
A psychic that can only tell you you 'don't listen' but does not help you to become a listener isn't a very good one in my book.
You don't HAVE to listen but if you WANT to become 'a listener' you will...but depending on what's going on in your life that may take years. I hope you are not in a hurry.
Tips:
Find somebody that can help you listen. The Internet isn't the place, you will need a hands on approach for that.
Trust your instinct:
If you hear your name and you feel it isn't 'right' ignore it. Don't be scared, no need and very counter productive. Go with the 'callers' that you feel you can trust.
Don't dive in. You will not be able to force this. As I said it may take years. Even finding someone that can help you may be a while away...on the other hand, you may already know this person but the subject just hasn't come up yet.

I was staying with my cousin and her foster mother when it happened to me. Her foster mother was a psychic and she would be on the phone with her clients a lot in the house. She also had a lot of candles in the house and I think she was doing spells on the side (Needless to say I got out of there as quickly as possible). The reason why I'm bringing this story up is because one day we were both taking a nap. My cousin's foster parent was in the livingroom and I was in my bedroom, we were both knocked out sleep. I woke up because I heard her calling my name, I went in the livingroom, but she was knocked out. so I layed back down and this time I heard my name loud and clear while I was still awake, I went back in and woke her up. She told me she wasn't calling me and that she was asleep.
Pray about it and like the other guy said, don't answer to it if it doesn't feel right. Scents that don't smell good are not good either, so pray about that as well, don't be sacred, but pray and don't have anything to do with it. Good Luck.

I have thought I have heard my name being called since I was little, It sounds like a desperate voice but I just thought I was nuts. I only hear it at night when I am tryin to fall asleep, and it's only every once in a while. I have never been to a psychic my self but my grandmother went to one and she told my grandma that I have psychic dreams.

At one time or another you may have crossed an area where some sort of Wicca, Voodoo or Tribal ritual was done. Do some backtracking and maybe you will remember a place such as a graveyard, an empty field, or more than likely a corner of a house or a corner of a street.

it is someone from the spirit world trying to get in touch with you.
if you can't hear the spirits, go to a spiritualist church & the spirit can then get the message to you through a medium, but don't go to just anyone & don't pay for it.
there are reputable people that do this for free & people that charge you are normally just making things up through my experience.

that happens to me once and a while. but what creeps me out is sometimes i think something is going to happen and it does. almost like i get signs. i got into a car accident on my way to work one day and i remember telling my self something was gonna happen; i had this strange weight on me all morning. it was such a different feeling.

it happens to me every now and then, however i was raised as a christian so my mother told me that it is GOD trying to get my attn and to just say yes lord..... when i was little i used to hear my mother yelling my name when i was about to do something bad.

This is not an astrology question; it's a mental health question. Hearing voices is a symptom of schizophrenia. That doesn't necessarily mean you HAVE schizophrenia (and I hope you don't), but you should see a psychiatrist to find out.

listen carefully and try deciphering the codes (if there is!)
and you are not nuts
some people are also experiencing these kind of stuff....
