Rightfully, the citizens of the United States of America owns the country. However, reality is often not as sweet as the ideals we aim for. The country is often controlled by big corporations that have the power of money that can be thrown around in Washington because money = power = clout. Often, the lower SES people are the ones who suffer the most because of that.

For example, big food companies uses billions of marketting dollars to make it seem like they are on the consumer's side, and they curtail government food control policies (e.g., in schools), when in fact, their food continues to be bad for our health. The people who doesn't have access to healthy food would most probably be people who doesn't earn a lot of money and find McDonald's conveniently cheap to eat...Where is the government in making sure schools have a healthy lunch menu for kids? Where is the government is getting the food companies to LABEL the genetically modified food among what we are eating? Isn't Uncle Sam supposed to protect all of its citizens? Why is he only protecting the big corporations?

E) Nobody. Native Americans didn't see land as something you can own, buy and sell. The Europeans took it nonetheless.

"As a starter, the arriving Europeans seemed attuned to another world, they appeared to be oblivious to the rhythms and spirit of nature. Nature to the Europeans - and the Indians detected this - was something of an obstacle, even an enemy. It was also a commodity: A forest was so many board feet of timber, a beaver colony so many pelts, a herd of buffalo so many robes and tongues. Even the Indians themselves were a resource - souls ripe for the Jesuit, Dominican, or Puritan plucking."

"It was the Europeans' cultural arrogance, coupled with their materialistic view of the land and its animal and plant beings, that the Indians found repellent. Europeans, in sum, were regarded as something mechanical - soulless creatures who wielded diabolically ingenious tools and weapons to accomplish mad ends."
