Broadband itself works fine its just some other software you may want might not work.
If you have a router connected via network cable or wireless you will have no trouble with the connection itself if the connection is via usb you need to check that there are vista drivers.
Some of the yahoo software such as the yahoo browser doesn't work on vista yet but this software isn't necessary.

If you are using a modem, check that there is a Vista driver for it. Even without this you can buy a modem/router which will be totally system independent and needs no drivers.
