I was ticklish as a child and I'm still ticklish now. Why haven't I outgrown it?

It has to do with nerve sensitivity and reaction time from what I understand. Recall reading something about MOST people not being able to tickle themselves because the brain anticipates the sensation at roughly the same time as the sensation is felt. Said we felt the tickle as an overload of the nerve clusters on a minor scale, sort of like the major scale of a burn or a bruise, only not so severe. Why it "tickles", is sort of like why a soft caress feels so nice, yet a slap hurts. Pain and pleasure are basically the same stimuli at different levels of intensity. One can't really outgrow their physical or mental makeup. Six fingers is six fingers, an average I.Q. is an average I.Q.
::Laugh:: Hey, I could be wrong though!

It doesn't change among many people. I too am quite ticklish. You may stop worrying about it.
