Mine was awful...
It was when I was 15 and it was in a cafe of a local shopping centre and it was 8am - 5pm Saturday and Sunday and it was only £10 per day and It was awful.. horrible kitchens.. cleaning dishes and clearing tables... absolutely horrible.. and the boss was horrible too.. she was a right cow with us.. I lasted afew month but couldn't take anymore.. I quit and went around telling everybody not to go in the cafe as the kitchens were minging and full of flies and old food (which was true!)
Their takings went down that week! hehehe

Delivering eggs after school every Friday evening. Customers were nice, although there was one bitter old biddy but she was alright really (just liked to moan and complain all the time) and had a few nasty dogs threaten me at the door when i deliver the owners eggs.
I got paid about 60p for every dozen of eggs I sold (I think). I'd get a normal wage of £12 to £16 on a good day. Christmas and New Year time was best as I'd get a lot of very handsome tips even gifts.
That would bring me in about £30-40. It was brilliant (tips) but I didn't miss the bad weather or certain people. Lol
I only did the job for a year before quitting to go to college.

Mine was in M & S as temporary staff over Xmas when I was 16/17. I got £4 an hour and on sundays £8, which was pretty good when you think about it. That was my first 'proper' job anyways, prior I had done a paper round for £15 a week and worked one day in a launderette for a £5 (which was essentialy child labour).

My first real job was working in the office of a warehouse. Can't remember the hourly pay but I got £150 a week before tax. Did not make up for the fact that I had an awful boss who smelled very bad!

My first paid job after leaving school was a 5 week summer job working in a Whitbread brewery. There was a gang of 5/6 of us working in the kegging hall.We put the beer in the barrels using machines that squirted you with warm frothy beer if you didn`t put the valve on right.
We got paid £25/ week for 40 hors.thats £0.62 /hour.A good rate then considering a pint was 46p and Guiness was about 60p a pint,A loaf of bread was about 16p But then I am just showing my age. I left school in 1977.
Where have all the years gone ? please help !!!

I helped deliver papers sitting on the hood of a car and darting off. I don't remember what I was paid, enough to eventually pay for a used mini-bike. There was 12 bucks left in my account when my family moved north. I wonder if it is still there and very large now sometimes
