I have major problems with my 1996 pontiac grand-am. My horn has recently started going off, for no reason, and doesn't stop until I unhook the battery. I also have trouble with the alarm...I never use it, yet whenever the battery gets unhooked, and then reattached, the alarm goes off. I don't have the key chain remotes for it. How can I disable them, of fix it. Please help me..

Simply unhook the connections at the horn. Tape the bare metal connector to prevent a short. Sounds like you may have a bad relay.

I own a 95 Grand Am, and what I found was that when the alarm goes off suddenly and without reason, it's a warning sign that the battery is close to dying.
My car would be sitting there, and all of a sudden, the alarm would go off.
It did this for about 2 weeks before the battery finally died altogether.
Whether this is the case with your car, I'm not sure, but the problem does sound very similar to the one I had.

You will have to remove the alarm and all associated wiring that was installed with it. Then properly repair where the wires were hooked into the factory harness. Good luck.
