Why do you have to be proud to be Black? Why can't you just be proud to be your own self? What is this relentless, always in everyone's face, ranting about race. Just do your thing and be proud of what you accomplish. As long as people know that you did you own work, and didnt rely on getting some kind of special treatment because you were black, then you will be respected.

Why don't you try to study or volunteer abroad? Just to make a difference and feel that the world is different now to blacks and other ethic groups in the US?
Maybe the Diversity Abroad Initiative could help you. They aim to stand for the so called "diverse ethnic groups".
