Hes been nagging for ages to have one. I always seem to notice that they are mainly designed for girls to play in. Is there one on the market designed for boys?

Depends on how much you want to spend and what sort. you can get playhouses for boys in argos and woollies that are more like sheds and even go over 2 stories and have climbing walls on the sides or you can get one of the more traditional plastic ones or like a tent. in fact a tent might be a good idea, if he likes a playhouse a tent might do just as well and he can use it later for camp outs!

there are lots out there for boys as well tho; spiderman etc themed ones, so don't give up, just decide how big you want it and how much you want to spend. until then let him build a den in your living room or garden with old sheets and chairs!

I am personally appaled at any responses you got that are homophobic!!! Just because a boy wants a playhouse, does NOT mean he wants to be or act like a girl. Children that young just want a little place where they can pretend or imagine. Your son probably admires you guys and wants a little home area he can do his own thing in. You can buy a fabric tent in the shape of a unisex home, log cabin, fire house, etc. Oh, yes. By playhouse do you mean like a house that he can fit in or are you referring to one he can play with action figures or small dolls?

Here are some sites to both, in styles you can all enjoy. He can even invite both boys and girls alike to join in the imaginative play!!! Good Luck!!!

Here are some life-size houses: (if you tool around hte same sites you can find some better ones if you have a larger budget set for the house you have in mind)

And here are some smaller scale playhouses (just as cool as the big ones!!!)

I totally agree with Awakening Spirit

Where is the problem? and why does it need to be a 'boy' playhouse?

Who's to say he wont grow up to be an architect! a seemingly 'male' job!!

pfffft to all this gender rubbish, hes a child and wants a playhouse......let him have one!!

My daughter always played with 'boyish' toys growing up, always wanted tractors and tool kits! people looked at this cute little girlie driving a tractor around the park but hey who cares what people think, she is a happy well adjusted young lady now it didnt make her want to be a farmer!!

Let children express themselves, being suppressed is a far greater worry than him playing in a playhouse!!

The Argos catalogue has play houses designed for boys and girls (it's a little white one, which is unisex) - they also do pop up tents with Bob the Builder and Spiderman, if that's any use.

there are plenty out there for boys too.... my son (he's 4) has a Spongebob Squarepants playhouse... and i've also seen spiderman ones and action man ones.... try having a look at the Argos website, or maybe the Toys r Us website.... i'm sure they will have a selection. if not, get him one of those small pop-up tents... they are just as good.

Along with stone, mud and animal parts, wood was one of the first materials worked by early humans. Microwear analysis of the Mousterian stone tools used by the Neanderthals show that many were used to work wood. The development of civilization was closely tied to the development of increasingly greater degrees of skill in working these materials.

Because girls mature faster than boys and always loved having them around. Either that, or they wanted boys to come into their little play houses so they can dress them up and put makeup on them and make them have tea parties lol

after reading powerpuff's answer i would steer him away from the girlie stuff, my youngest lad used to play with his older sisters dolls and stuff around the age of 3-5. thankfully he has stopped now aged 6 and is more into his sports. the age of 7 is too old for him to be messing with the girlie stuff, and if it carries on you may start to notice some snide comments. anyway my wife says that argos do a great range of boys forts and castles. so do woolworths bigredbook.com good luck.

I often see boys pushing pushchairs on the street and think it is sweet but wonder how the parents will take it when the child grows up GAY, of course not all do but I played girlie games as a child and I'm a puff. I think it is fine to support a young child's wishes but please do not be disappointed or stop supporting them when older.
