I sprained my right ankle about 6 months ago when playing basketball. I actually just recovered from a left ankle sprain from the last summer. Now its been like 6 months and my right ankle has not been functioning right. There is no pain when im not moving or when im walking normally. However my major concern is that the movement of my ankle is very limited now. You guys know that when you position yourself to do a freethrow you kinda squat a little bit and when i do that i cant bend my ankle and it hurt when i force it. Is it gonna be like this forever? I still play basketball once in a while is it too risky should i just stop playing sports until my ankle gets better?

Sounds like you need to see an orthopedic and he or she could recommend a physical therapist. I'd lay off the sports in the meantime.

Go and see a Physiotherapist, they will be able to see by the foot movement what the problem is, could just be the muscle have gone tight, or a more serious problem. They will then show you the correct exercise to do to correct the problem and advise about returning to Basketball. Some thing you really do not mess with as you need ankles, feet for the rest of your life.

I badly sprained my ankle about 3 weeks ago. I was in a hurry going down the stairs, lost my balance and landed on a bad side of my left foot, causing my left ankle to be stretched going on the inside. The first 48 hours were excruciating and the pain was un-believable. I've never had a serious ankle injury before.

So I immediately treated it using the RICE method. The following day, the bruising and swelling were so horrible. I found out that I got a second degree sprain and immediately panicked after that. I had a football game on that week and it been looking forward to it because I've been training for rt. I had teammates that had similar injuries and it took them months to fully recover, some of them stopped playing altogether. So I kinda had a short-term depression because I can't imagine myself not being able to run and play sports anymore.

Because I was so desperate to recover again, I contacted a lot of people that I know who do sports and asked them if they had similar injuries. One friend of mine, from the boy's football team in my university, told me about H.E.M. Ankle Rehab. I got a copy 4 days after I got injured. I immediately read and followed what was instructed and felt improvement on the first day. I was able to walk a bit, but I was in pain.

A couple of days after that, the swelling and bruising were subsid-ing significantly and on the fourth day, I was walking comfortably again. Although I've had felt a bit of stiffness, I continued doing what was instructed. My sister was surprised that I have recovered this fast. I told her about this book and was shocked on how effective the procedures were. I'm just so happy that this book was shared to me and how effective it is.

Heal your ankle fully & fast?

Have you considered going to a chiropractor? They can do wonderful things with bones and muscles. Also you are dehydrated. We are 85 % water and so therefore drink half your body weight in ounces a day, of clean, clear, bottled or filtered water, not tap water unless filtered, nor distilled not coffee, tea, or juices, especially the energy drinks as they are mostly all sugar, which is a killer to you immune system also sodas. You are probably like a lot of people eating fast food and junk food, which your body is so busy fighting off toxins, it cannot build your immune system. If you want to know more you can contact me.

You need to go back to the doctor and get it checked out. There could be undetected ligament damage, and you'll need an MRI to see that. Also, you should get into physical therapy.
