They shouldn't be beaten just for being Australia. They should be beaten if there are more talented players out there. So no, they shouldn't be beaten :P

As I said earlier that Australia shall prevail (be victorious or gain mastery) over Sri Lanka. So, I do not agree with you on this question or premise of yours.

Btw, being a man from this subcontinent I would be happy to see the Sri Lanka win the Cup. But if I have to consider overall performance of this ICC Cricket WC-2007 then the Cup is already in Australian's hand!

Look if australia loses..not beaten..it would be good for you and other hopefuls here. I would imagine it, being very boring for you, no team other then... australia to a have a crack at. And the interest of cricket in the future..will flourish. Because there will be ppl like you and others with silly questions, and silly ppl like me answering. And so I totally do not agree with you.

People will still have interest in cricket whether Australia wins or not. Australia right now is just like the West Indies team that created Havoc for other teams back in the 80's and early 90's. I think the key is people will watch to see when they will get knocked off their throne.

Yes. Cricket is getting really one sided. All the countries except australia is witnessing shortfall of good talented cricketers. In some countries interest for the game is also fast loosing. This is not a good sign for crickets future.

Nope i disagree. If Australia win, it will just make others team's feelings strong about beating them. I think if Sri Lanka lose the final, they will come up stronger in the next world cup with the desire to win it because they had already been in the final. But right now they will be focusing on the final match and who knows they might win cause they have both best bowlers and batsmen.

DISAGREE!!!!
Just because we Australians set the benchmark and continue to raise it should be incentive to other sides to usurp our dominance.
Now that Sri Lanka wont be playing "silly buggers" with their bowling line up we will see a good tough match.
I by no means think we will pummel them as we haven't played their proper team. So its a relative unknown. The batting we have faced and controlled but the bowling is another matter.
Roll on tomorrow and may the best team (Australia!! ) win.
Cheers guys :)

I do not quite agree with you. If other countries are not able to make their team as strong as Australia, there is no use feeling jealous at Australia. Whichever team plays better cricket should be appreciated without any partisan spirit, which is the real sportsman spirit.

Australia WILL BE BEATEN.
Sri Lanka will win the world cup 2007.
There is no doubt that Australia is a good team, and they play good cricket BUT the Sri Lankan team has class AND talent. AND they are not pompous as the aussie team!.
