Dear Basketball,
i think that's a tough question to answer without knowing what team Kobe is playing for. i think the players that surround Kobe have a lot to do with his shot selection and how much he "needs to score".
Moreover it would also depend on the style of play of that team. (I know all these teams are in the West except Detroit - but i bet Kobe would score a lot more playing with Phoenix or Golden State, than playing for San Antonio or Detroit).
Off course in the East he would get to play more games against Eastern conference teams. i think in the East we see more parody which means that Kobe would be playing in more tight games and taking more shots in the clutch.
Right now with the lack of talent on the Lakers Kobe has to do what he does to keep his team competitive. In a thinner East maybe there might be more of a focus on winning as a team- because Kobe could position his team to do challenge for an Eastern Conference title.
Hope that helps. Kindly,
Nickster

anywhere between 30 and 35 points. and yes he would still be scoring champ. actually he might even average more because we all know that The East has weaker teams than the West. Kobe has to face more western teams than east every season. So he might even score more than 35 a game if he was in the east. a lot of the games would b easier than in the west. ex. the entire atlantic division this season was terrible with the exception of toronto.
What if he played for boston and paul peirce played for la. Would the celts b division leaders. Bostons fans already chanted MVP at Kobe once this season(and i really dont understand why).

35 ppg sounds about right, considering how bad the Eastern Conference is than the West. So yes, he would still be the scoring champion!

he only averaged 27.36 against the East this year
33.57 vs the west
you play 52 games against your conference and 30 against the opposite one so if you take this years averages and switch the games played (taking in all 82 games) Kobe's average goes to 29.6
and that would still have him as scoring champ over Anthony's 28.9

I would say he would average the same amount maybe a point more. The thing about the Eastern Confernece is that it is much slower so he wouldnt get as many shot opportunites, but he is Kobe so passing the ball isnt in his mindset.
