He could see no reason, 'cause there are no reasons.....I don't like Mondays, ....I want to shoot the whole day down......the lesson today is how to die.....?

The real inspiration for the Boomtown Rats song, "I don't like Mondays," comes from an event in California on January 27, 1979. Brenda Spencer had taken her father's gun and opened fire on her school. Eight people were hurt, two were killed. Brenda will be eligible for parole in 2009.

Well, I guess [logically] that you could say Cho Seung-hui did not like Mondays either (his classes were Tues-Thurs) and that it is the reason he killed 32 people before committing suicide. ?????

Cho Seung-hui made a video tape of his rationale, though.

Cho Seung-hui said, "you made me do it", "you could have stopped me". To him the killing made sense. It was necessary.

Cho was jealous of those who were richer and privileged. In his videotaped manifesto-like diatribe that he mailed to NBC. Cho Seung-hui said, "You had everything you wanted. Your Mercedes wasn't enough, you brats. Your golden necklaces weren't enough, you snobs. Your trust fund wasn't enough. Your vodka and cognac weren't enough. All your debaucheries weren't enough. Those weren't enough to fulfill your hedonistic needs. You had everything." The 1,800-word manifesto-like diatribe in which he expresses rage, resentment and a desire to get even that he mailed to NBC tells how he felt.

For Cho, the anger, resentment and rage had built up for so long that he needed a release. So to him, the killing was necessary.

The school/workplace shootings will not stop until people learn to forgive.

It is anger coupled with hopelessness. Such a person feels that there is no other alternative. It is the only way to feel relief from the anger.

Anger, rage, resentment. Feeling that everything is unfair, unjust, hopless. Ruminating. Not being willing to forgive and let go. Envy, jealousy and more rage.

Now contrast that with a person who is able to forgive others, forgive everone who has ever hurt, used or abused them.....that person will have the fruit of the spirit....love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, gentleness, temperance and faith.

No one can control the bad things that happen to them. However, anyone can control the way he handles it.

If a person struggles with anger and depression he can seek help from a religious counselor or psychologist.

Sorry....could NOT bear to sit through that video.
(it looked like some kind of Harry Potter music video)
there is no LOGICAL explaination for Virginia Tech Killings.
Maybe insane logic on the killers part.
But since his brains were probably spattered all over a wall we will never know his LOGIC.

Actually, the video of "Manic Monday " by the Bangles would more be likely drive a person to the level of insanity required to follow thru with the terrible actions that occurred.

I am more inclined to say that it was the time of year, not the day of the week. Consider these April happenings: Virginia Tech (16th), Waco (19th), Oklahoma City (19th), Columbine (20th), Hitler's Birthday (20th), Hitler Commits Suicide (30th).

A friend who is a mental health professional told me that April is the busiest months of the year for his office.

I really like this video, and yes, I think that for a mentally disturbed person, such as he was, it wouldn't really take so very much to set him off. Not, liking Mondays would seem ludicrous to the rest of us, but to the mentally disturbed, we can never really know what might seem reasonable.

What does pale face English heroine addict has to do with Virginia tech. Why do you think they were rolling up their sleeves. TO shoot up. Ohhh, what a suprise, drug addicts who hate mondays. I guess, "Working for a Living" isn't in their repertoire.
