Don't joke to it will make you look like a goof ball

Don't bring any kids to the interview.

Don't dress in your street clothes. Where a nice button up shirt.

Don't wear a low cut shirt exposing the girls- this sends only one message

When asked about a weakness be genuine, don't say you don't have any. Those of us who do interviews know that is a load. Everyone has weakness its how you have dealt with them.

Be 30 minutes early you may have to fill out the application first. If not be 15 minutes early. Even if you have to wait it still make you look good. No one really wants to hire someone who is always late.

If they ask you why you applied? Don't say because you need the money- that is considered to be a ignorant answer. Look up on the company web-site and tell them how you identified with there goals and mission.

Relax - If you say your nervous they may need someone is calm in a pressure situation as this is what is needed in a receptionist.

Relax and appear friendly and professional.

A receptionist is the face of the company. Your dress should reflect this. So you should choose an outfit that reflects that.

Black or grey is good if the company is very serious, but for something like a web design company, a little more relaxed is better.

Be professional in all your answers, but remember people have to like you, but don't try too hard to make them like you.

Remember getting a job is a numbers game. The won't reject you, but choose someone else above you. So don't worry and keep trying many jobs.

Dress smartly and wear a smile

Arrive 5 minutes early and make sure that you take a copy of your resume/CV with you so that you can refer to it. Also take a pen in case they ask you to fill anything in

Check out the company's website before you go and work out some questions that you can ask that show you did research.

Relax and remember that it is as much about you interviewing them as them interviewing you.
