My mechanic says this so and I doubt it would give such effect on hp. Because I see pressureplate as normally engaged and pressure plate forks serves only as tools for releasing clutch engagement on the engine.

Please inform me more about pressure plates. Thanks

Well, let me give you a lesson. the only way that hp is reduced, is if the gears are worn, and slipping in and out of gear.. and to correct you , you have a shift fork, not pressure plate fork, that when clutch is engaged, the shift fork works in union with the gears shifter..If you have a decrease in power, then more that likely you have a transmission problem.

if You are talking about ,groves in the pressure plate "springs" (gonna look like fork)
Your mechanic is right.
