the oceans are as deep as 10 kms. it is not possible to swim deep beacuse the water pressure is very high as the depth increases, already with 30 ft , the swimmer has to bear a higher pressure than atmosphere.

The Pacific has the deepest spots compared to the Atlantic. This is because some of the earths tectonic plates (the ones that the continents are on which move about very slowly - commonly known as continental drift) collide with each other in quite a few areas in the Pacific. The result is that they push each other downwards and create extremely deep trenches. The notable feature of the Atlantic is the undersea mountain range called the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, which is where two plates are moving apart and volcanic uprisings occur and create a ridgeline.

The surface of the oceans varies widely. Some parts of the Pacific ocean are over 35000 feet deep. However, no-one will actually swim down to that depth without being in some vehicle. Also, people don't normally swim below 30 feet without some type of air supply. If they did, there is a good chance they could develop "the bends" in the time they would take to surface for air.

Just because the Oceans are deeper, doesn't mean people can swim that deep.

the deepest point in the pacific ocean is 36160 feet in the Marianas trench. the deepest point in the Atlantic is 28681 feet in the puerto rico trench. they train people to swim in thirty foot of water cause if u can swim in thirty foot u can swim in water at any depth it is just a depth they picked i am talking of course about surface swimming as far as scuba diving that's a different ballgame u can only swim so deep before the pressure would crush you

I don't think we have the technology to go very deep in oceans. The pressure is to much. It would be interesting to find whats under there. Maybe lots of ships and gold?
