I met a few people on a nude beach. I'm a closet-nudist in that there are no resorts around me, but I go naked every now and then.
I think nudism is great for all people. Without clothes, you shed your inhibitions and your pre-conceptions, and your problems. Most nudists are more laid back, more relaxed about the world, more comfortable with themselves and others, more accepting of others, less judgemental, and generally happier people. They also slather on a TON of sunscreen, so they are less cancerous, which is always a bonus.
I would love to be nude all the time, except for socially unacceptable situations and adverse weather. To be able to strip down and be comfortable in your own skin is liberating. You're saying to the world, "Here I am. If you don't like it, I'm sorry. But I love myself."
I'd suggest folks who have low self-esteem try it out. You'll feel ever so much better about yourselves when you accept yourself for who you are.

Yes, In college, I met two couples who were nudists. They told me that they walked around that way at home all the time and were raising their children to do the same at home. They thought that everyone should feel comfortable with their bodies etc. They also went to beaches but I dont remember if they could only be topless or if there was another condition in place. I never went with them. I only went to visit one of them. She did not believe that everyone needed to share her opinion, so when I went over she would dress in shorts and a t shirt or a robe etc. as to not make me feel uncomfortable. Occasionally, you would see her 4 year old run out of the room completely naked but she would be stopped and told that they had company and to get dressed. The kids seemed really well adjusted. I guess its a personal preference. I somewhat liked their self esteem and confidence. I think it is something that is lacking today in America with females about their bodies. It is not something that I would be comfortable with.

Not in a non-nude situation, but we have met several people who were practicing nudism on a beach. We were practicing at the time as well.

two of my dear friends are nudists, if they wanna throw caution and their nethers to the wind who am i to object. we're too hung up on the human body anyway, it wouldn't hurt everyone to strip and get real for a bit.
