Be happy, at no one else's expense.
Don't do anything to hurt others.
Always retain a sense of curiosity and a thirst for learning.
Take good care of yourself physically & mentally, and be kind to those around you.
Keep your sense of humor fresh. Don't let it wither into wry cynicism or get buried by negative emotions.
Stay mellow. Few things are truly worth getting stressed out over. As the saying goes, "Don't sweat the small stuff."
Find happiness in spreading happiness to others.
Keep politics out of your life as much as possible. Religion, too, but that's just me.
When you marry, marry because you love the person, not because you just want children or are tired of being lonely. Those are selfish reasons, and can lead you to marry the wrong person for the wrong reasons.
Remember that negative emotions seldom serve any useful purpose.
If asked, share your wisdom with others, but don't proselytize. What makes you happy and gives you meaning in life may be totally different for someone else. Be accepting of how others choose to live their lives, even (or especially) if it's not how you would choose to live yours.

The key to life is happiness. Life can hit us with all manner of things but, we choose how we handle these things! You can choose to become bitter and angry or, you make a choice to be happy.
It isn't easy to maintain happiness as life is curvy and there are highs and lows. However, when we walk through a tragedy, such as a loss of a loved one, we can still find happiness in our memories. It takes time but, we do have choices! To be happy or not!
This is my key to life and that happiness comes from all manner of areas in my life! Including, the past!

Be happy with who you are and where you are. I've never had a bad bay just bad moments. You have to be able to let things go and make peace with the past. I would say you should find a job you like, a life partner you love and be money smart. You should not limited yourself and be open to new things.

Its all good, find love, and happiness, just dont do it in a way that will harm others, like car thieves and bank robbers.
I have to disagree with Tad V. Not all people who have god in their life are found, and not all without god are lost.
