My burner keeps giving me the option and I don’t know if it will make a difference.

u can burn at ur maximum speed if u have the folowing:
1-enough ram and cahe
2-good brand name or quality of cd or dvd
3-good software burner like Roxio
4-good hardware burner(anything accept BenQ and other rubbish burners!)

Less likelihood of transcription (writing) errors. If you are not having a problem with this, don't worry about it and use the faster speeds. This was a bigger problem in the past because the technology was newer and so a few "glitches" from time to time were to be expected.

Slower speed will allow you to capture everything.

slower speed is helpful only in case your HDD, ram speed is slower
