In my opinion, I never seen so many calls go one-way! Everytime Kobe drives to the hoop, he gets a foul call, and when he doesnt get one he looks at the ref, and then on his very next possesion he gets the call. Not only this, but the Suns were getting NO calls on their end, eventhough they were driving to the hoop. And it is pretty obvious when they show the replays that there were fouls not called when the suns had the ball. Now im not a fan of either team, but I just hate when the refs are showing the Lakers so much love because of Kobe being NBA's marke' player, and the Lakers vs. Suns series, the longer it goes on, the better PR ratings not only TNT gets, but the whole NBA in part.

So any feedback on this issue, or another other instance like this one, please feel free to answer. Thanks in advance.

Actually the Lakers just looked more hungry than the Suns did from the 2nd quarter to the end. Kobe hasnt played good bball like that since last years playoffs with Phoenix. He wasnt being Posessive of the ball like he normally is. instead he trusted his teamates to score tonight as well. If kobe could play like that every night, then i would have a lot more respect for him as a team player. But aside from the offense, LA played awesome defense. they were shutting down the transition offense of the Suns and they were actually getting shotclock violation because of it. How often do you see that from a phoenix team? Never! except against the Lakers in the playoffs. LA is the only team that i can think of that can make thier offense completly fall flat. Even San Antonio Cant stop the fast paced speed of phoenix that much.

And news flash, Kwame Brown is finally playing like Phil Jackson and Jordan thought he would. I always said that if Kwame can get comfortable in a game, that he has the best post-up moves because he is so quick with his back to the rim. Did u see that post up spin he did on amare? that reminded me of Shaq but 5, time quicker.

If Phoenix wants to win game 4 however they need Marion to run the court. Shawn has no set plays for him. Its just him getting open on the break all the time and setting pick-n-rolls or pick-n-pops with Steve Nash.

Lamar Odom needs to stop shooting 3's because when he gets that far outside his shot looks really ugly. he jumps too high with his release and shoots it too hard. every 3 pointer he took tonight made this loud clank on the back of the rim. He should stick with the points in the paint, at least for this series.

Oh and by the way, Kobe is not the leagues marke' player by a long shot. That would be both Lebron and Wade. They are the face of the NBA right now just like A-Rod is to MLB.

Dear Jodatoa,

i was at the game tonight, and it was clear that the Lakers were the aggressors today. In fact the offensive rebounds clearly showed that the Lakers played harder tonight and effort and intensity usually results in more free throws.

Phoenix settled for a lot of jumpers tonight. i saw a number of calls that went Phoenix's way. For example Amare should have been called for charge early in the 2nd quarter- but i think the Ref's did not want to call #3 against Amare so early so they called a block on Kwame.

Kobe was robbed of a 3 point play, when he shifted (Nash was not planted- his feet were still moving) but it would have been #2 on Nash early in the 2nd so again the call went against Kobe.

Kobe took the ball aggressively to the rack tonight and 13 free throws in a game is not unusual for him. There were about 3 to 4 instances where i thought he was fouled where it wasn't called, so i don't buy that he's getting calls because he is Kobe Bryant. Other than Stoudemire, no one on Phoenix really took the ball to the rack and that's why they didn't get a lot of free throws attempt.

One of the funniest plays in the game was when there was .1 seconds left in the first half- and the Lakers inbounded to Brian Cook for a desparation toss and the buzzer went off before Cook even touched the ball... hillarious...

Kindly,

Nickster

The officials always favor the home team.

And, the officials want to keep the game score close.
If one team is leading by too many points the officials will call traveling, carrying the ball, palming, and loose ball fouls.

Less physical players get foul calls if they get manhandled too much. Big strong players will be called for every forearm push or hip check.

They try to equalize the number of turnovers between teams, and make sure the home crowd is happy.
Get used to it !

You're so right man!!

It was very similar to the Mavs and Warriors game 2 where the referees destroyed any momentum the road team had and swung the game into the home team's favor.

How could Kobe get so many baby calls??? And the free throws? A very big difference.. I was really turned off with the officiating, it sucks!

Obviously, ratings and revenue will be better if the series go longer and so that is the masterplan. Kobe is good but we all know who the better TEAM is and they were ROBBED

look, OKC went to the foul line plenty too, virtually as much as la And did you watch the recreation? The refs are not purely no longer likely to blow the whistle if there's a undesirable. i'd say exceedingly plenty all fouls have been rather sturdy calls. If the NBA replaced into rigged, why did OKC win 2 video games already?

first of all homecourt adcantage then kobe has a ratio of 1 to 5 foul calls his way in his whole carrer
and u think they give him all the calls?
and besides i learned this from my coach when ur the more agressive team tha calls will favor u cuz the referees see that ur trying and controling the tempo

I believe that many sports games, including basketball, are rigged, or at least, the refs have a strong preference, especially in playoff games. Kobe always gets special treatment, no matter what, as do most of the other stars in the league. For example, I was watching the Jazz-Rockets game a few nights ago, and Yao was getting all kinds of special treatment. Sadly, this is just normal. Nobody's going to stop it.

OMG you Laker fans are dillusional! seriously they can't win the series or the finals! let alone beat Phoenix, San Antonio and Dallas! they barely made the playoffs. You clearly do not understand basketball, or you hope by telling everyone it will happen that it might come true.

As for the issue of referees I agree that based on a home and away series the home team gets more calls this is why home court advantage is so important!

eh he took 13 free throws buddy...thats not gettin to the line every single time...besides 4 of it was after the game was pretty much decided and the suns were fouling since they were trailing in the last minute...

so that leaves us with 9 free throw attempts and he made 9 of those out of 45 points...sounds like he didn't get a ton of calls...

He was agressive every single time down the floor and earned 4-5 trips to the line THE WHOLE GAME.

Don't be a sore loser

You know what i thought it was rigged too. BUT THE LAKERS FOUGHT THROUGH IT.

Did you see that game. Boris Diaw just falls all over the court trying to fake getting fouled, amare gets to travel and goal tend whenever he wants, and steve nash wants to get every foul called his way.

Those arrogant little punks. I hope Lakers smash on them.
LAKERS IN 6!!!
